A COCONUT NAMED BOB

We are honored to share A Coconut Named Bob, a special children’s book written by Austin Weaver, the brother of an All Things Possible team member Malia Weaver. In 2020, at the age of 24, Austin tragically passed away in a swimming accident. His joyful spirit, determination, and creativity continue to inspire everyone who reads his story. This book stands as a cherished part of his legacy.
Austin was only 13 years old when he wrote this beautiful story of friendship and imagination — despite struggling with dyslexia and finding reading and writing difficult. Determined to follow his dream, Austin spent countless hours learning about publishing, contacting publishers, and refining his story. His dedication paid off when Island Heritage, a well-known Hawaiian publisher, saw its potential and brought it to life with award-winning illustrations by Don Robinson.
The result was A Coconut Named Bob — a heartwarming tale about a young boy who befriends a coconut. What began as a simple idea quickly grew into a bestselling children’s book, with over 100,000 copies sold.We are so excited to share Austin’s story and A Coconut Named Bob with you — a book that continues to touch hearts.
